The guiding principles

Our guiding principle of the new leadership framework for the new leadership culture is "Respect & Results". In other words, we strive for a leadership culture that embraces the everyday challenge of balancing these two objectives. We need excellent results that include short-term financial goals, but which also go beyond this initial aim. For example, we need outstanding results when it comes to shaping our structures and processes and developing our people. We must aim to become a high-performance organisation. Without excellent results at all levels, we will not be successful.

On the other hand we need respect. This means a respectful attitude towards people and reality. If we want to shape our world, we need to start by listening to others and understanding where they are coming from. We need respect for our customers and our people, as well as for the environment in which we operate. We may be able to deliver results in the short term without respect, however, we need respect at all levels to be able to achieve long-term sustainable results. Respect is the precondition for our success.
